The Purpose of this Blog
This blog is intended to be a resource for
teachers who recognize the importance of teaching our students about the
history, and culture of Canada’s Indigenous peoples. We hope to provide
resources, community connections, and curriculum based ideas, as a means to
promote awareness, knowledge, acceptance, and confidence in relation to
teaching through a FNMI lens.
Authenticity
Our top priority is collecting
resources that are not only informative, but authentic, and truly representative
of the Indigenous cultures within Canada. For this reason, Elders, community members,
and individuals in this area of study will be consulted, and connected with, to
keep our blog content informative, and authentic.
